Douglas H Miller: An Obituary

Douglas miller died peacefully at home on 4 October 2013 at the age of 80, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Douglas was born in Dunfermline, Fife where he trained as a sanitary inspector. He qualified in 1955 before moving to Perth and then to Banff County Council in 1960 where he remained. He rose through the ranks to become Director of Environmental Health for Banff & Buchan District Council. Douglas was a well-known and popular character within public health and waste management circles. A Fellow of C1WM, he served on its Scottish Centre Council for a number of years, including a term as chairman.
