CIWM agrees it is important to close off any potential loopholes with the introduction of controls for exempt sites along with raising standards for licensed/permitted sites. It is good to see the metals industry supporting levelling the playing field and controlling the illegal use and operation of sites for scrap metal. Each sector needs all the help it can get to highlight professional resource and waste management operations.
