As I sit down to write my final report as President in mid-October, with a week to go to the inauguration of our new President, Professor Jim Baird, in Glasgow, I find myself thinking, despite the early warnings from Past Presidents, how quickly the term has flown in. It seems only yesterday since my own inauguration in Stormont - a day which is permanently embedded in my memory as one of the big highlights of my career. As part of my final reflections I want to look back at some of the hopes and aspirations I raised in my first article as objectives for my year in office, and discuss briefly the extent to which these have been realised - or not! I include some of these briefly below, together with a discussion on some of the other significant activities and developments throughout the year...
