As I'm sure I've said on previous occasions, the Ecomondo event isn't one of the largest waste and recycling equipment exhibitions on the planet. It's not even largest within the EU. But with a dozen halls devoted to both scrap, waste and recycling on one side; and water, sewage and wider environmental issues on the other, it is certainly one of the best. Alongside the oft-repeated mantra that there are "too many shows" (oft-repeated by manufacturers keen to save marketing budgets, that is), we need to balance the fact that if our industry is to move forward, those who have the job of increasing efficiency, minimising carbon emissions and implementing a whole raft of changes and improvements on an ongoing basis, must have access to the latest concepts and designs of equipment.
