The battery recycling project ReLieVe (Recycling Lithium-ion batteries for electricVehicles), led bv Eramet, with BASF and Suez, is set to receive funding of €4.7m from EIT Raw Materials, a consortium initiated and funded by the European Union, and the three member companies. The objective of the ReLieVe initiative is to develop an innovative closed-loop process to recycle lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries from electric vehicles (EVs) and to enable the production of new Li-ion batteries in Europe.
