Wasted scenarios?

In the weeks before 29 March 2019 - in the absence of an agreed withdrawal agreement between the UK and the EU, or an extension to the withdrawal period -businesses are left with limited options, other than to plan for no-deal scenarios. We set out the implications for the shipment of waste, as of the withdrawal date, between the EU-27 and the UK - which becomes a third country - in a no-deal situation. Further guidance may be issued by the European Commission and the UK government, so we recommend monitoring relevant updates on gov.uk and, where necessary, confirming the position with the appropriate environmental regulator before shipments. The position set out below is as of 1 March 2019.
