Year 2000: Are You Ready?

Sophisticated technology allows civil engineers to do more with less. But when Y2K strikes, we may long for the days of pencils and slide rules. With the number of computer "byte heads" that our engineering firm—HSA Engineers and Scientists, Tampa, Fla.—hires these days, it was destined to happen. As we edge closer to the next millennium (which actually begins Jan. 1, 2001, not Jan. 1, 2000, as popularly accepted), HSA is undergoing a metamorphosis as we expand into the computer support and database management area.
