Faced with the potential failure of its deep tunnel sewer system, Charleston Water System has moved quickly to upgrade this critically important infrastructure component. By managing challenges related to seismic conditions and overcoming constraints associated with underground construction in an urban area, the project team has helped to safeguard historic downtown Charleston.
