No Ordinary Fix

Complex structural interations between the floating and fixed sections of the William R. Bennett Bridge, recently constructed across Okanagan Lake, in British Columbia, required close coordination on the part of the many members of a unique design and construction team. The C$144-million (U.S.$118-million) bridge, named in honor of a former premier of British Co-rnlumbia, was designed as a replacement for the lake's original floating structure, but it uses some of the same anchors and design elements as its predecessor.
