The palazzo Versace Dubai, a hotel currently under construction in Dubayy (Dubai), will have the world's first refrigerated beach, cooled so that hotel guests can comfortably recline on the sand during the hottest of days. According to London's Sunday Times, summer temperatures in Dubayy average 103℉ (40℃) and can reach 122℉(50℃). The beach will be cooled by a network of pipes running beneath the sand. The pipes will contain a coolant that will absorb heat from the surface, and the network will be monitored via a computer-controlled thermostat.
