NASA, GM Develop Next Generation of Humanoid Robots

Robots may soon be taking on hazardous missions in outer space and working on car assembly lines right alongside people. Scientists and engineers from NASA and Detroit-based General Motors have teamed up to accelerate the development of Robonaut 2, or R2, a dexterous humanoid robot. Researchers from the two organizations are working together at the Johnson Space Center, in Houston.
