Car Seeks to Break World Land Speed Record

A project designed both to break the world land speed record and to inspire young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics has reached a major milestone. The design of the Bloodhound project car has been finalized after 10 design evolutions that first tweaked and then radically altered the locations of a hybrid rocket capable of creating 122 kN of thrust and a jet engine capable of creating 90 kN of thrust.
