Engineers Drain Lake under a Glacier On Mont Blanc

French engineers are determined to drain a lake under a glacier on Mont Blanc, on the border of France, Italy, and Switzerland, before it floods the commune of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains. The lake was discovered under the Tete Rousse glacier during routine checks in July. Engineers are drilling a hole into the ice and pumping out the lake, which is said to contain approximately 2.3 million cu ft of water.
