1980 saw the next development for Civil Engineering Surveyor (CES); the formation of an editorial board and publications committee, initially chaired by Mike Fort and latterly by John Bacon. Later members included David Whitehouse, John Coleman, Derek Simmons and David Carrick. The committee oversaw a period of rapid improvement for CES. Instrument reviews, computer application studies and reviews, project reports, lecture reporting, book reviews and interviews of leading personalities and opinion formers.
