Archaeology shines light on 6,000 years of history: A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon

A ROMAN trade distribution centre, an abandoned medieval village and two prehistoric henge monuments are among nationally significant archaeological discoveries uncovered by the team delivering the UK's biggest road upgrade. The sites have been uncovered by archaeologists working on Highways England's ￡1.5bn A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme, which will cut up to 20 minutes off journeys by upgrading 21 miles of the major route to three lanes in each direction.
