Flexible circuits have found employment in untold numbers of applications over their storied history, from mundane earth-bound consumer products to glorified and otherworldly space hardware. The applications continue to explode and it is difficult if not impossible to keep track of all of their variety. One potentially interesting application that exists for flex circuits is as an engineering change order (ECO) facilitation medium. While manufacturing abhors them, ECOs are a fact of life in the world of electronics. Circuit designs are created and implemented and then changed for any of a myriad of potential reasons. The big problem with them, however, is that they disrupt the manufacturing flow. So if required, the ideal solution is one that makes the process as painless as possible.
