Impact of Backplane Characteristics on the Production Process

The production process of PCBs is fairly standard and well known within industry circles. However, when it comes to the production of backplanes―large PCBs used to connect a number of boards to one system―the process is anything but standard. Since backplanes are larger than average PCBs, the manufacturing of these boards requires particular expertise. Driven by larger-than-average specifications as well as other factors, backplane manufacturing requires specialized equipment, exceptional know-how, and stringent inspection and verification machines to ensure a high-quality end product.
