Highly Accelerated Thermal Shock (HATS)

Over the past 30 years, the printed circuit manufacturing business has undergone a transition from predominately captive facilities owned by large vertically integrated corporations to independent fabricators that served the commodity market. Once rich with research and development funding, the independents can no longer invest the resources on their own to make improvements in technology required for next-generation designs. Indeed, the materials and equipment suppliers today are providing much of the new technology to advance the industry.
