Hand surgery in China: 40 years

摘要

Since the founding on New China, rapid development of industry and mechanization of agriculture brought on a rise of the incidence of hand injury. To meet the increasing demands for surgical care of hand, department of hand surgery, the first of its kind in China, was set up in Beijing Jishuitan Hospital in 1959, and it will be commemorating its 40th anniversary in the coming autumn. For better communication and technique exchanges, the Hand Surgery Group of the Chinese Society of Orthopedics Was organized in 1984.
