THE NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON UNSTABLE ANGINA PECTORIS: CLASSIFICATION, PATHOPHYSIOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT

Although the true incidence of unstable angina pectoris (UAP) remains poorly recognized, patients with UAP have still formed an incresing proportion of patients hospitalized in coronary care unit in recent years, and UAP clearly carries a high risk for myocardial infarction and death. Therefore, the Chinese Medical Journal, Chinese Journal of Cardiology and Chinese Journal of Circulation sponsored a national symposium on UAP in Nanking between May 9 and 11, 1994. One hundred and thirty workers of basic medical science and clinical cardiologists from all over the country participated the conference to discuss thoroughly on the classification, pathogenesis and therapies of UAP.
