BACTERIAL L-FORMS RESEARCH IN CHINA

摘要

Bacterial L-forms were discovered by Klieneberger only 60 years ago and the work in this field started in our country for not more than 35 years. It progressed slowly at first, but is much accelerated during the recent 10 years. Bacterial L-forms are now an interesting issue ont only in the field of bacteriology but also in epidemiology, pathology and clinical medicine as well. Many problems, which can not be solved and are often called idiopathic, are elucidated gradually through the study on L-forms. This is a brief review of the 1st and 2nd National Congress of Bacterial L-forms held in 1990 (Huangshan) and 1993 (Wuhan). It may represent some of the recent status in this field in our country.
