Effects of perioperative cimetidine administration on natural killer cells in patients with gastrointestingal cancer

Objective: To study the effects of perioperative use of cimetidine on natural killer (NK) cells in gastro- intestinal (GI) cancer patients. Methods: 49 GI cancer patients were ranodmized into treatment group which took cimetidine in the perioperative period, and control group which did not take the drug. NK cells were measured by immunocytochemical method, using mouse-anti-human CD_57 monoclonal antibody as the primary antibody.
