Study of Wetting Feature on Refractories for Smelting Reduction Melts with Iron Bath

摘要

The wetting feature of smelting reduction melts on the different kinds of refractories is studied in this paper. The results indicate that the activity or concentration of FeO in slag and content of carbon existing in refractory are the important factors affecting on the wetting character. The higher the activity of FeO, the stronger the wetting capacity of slag on refractories. On the other hand, the higher the carbon content in refractories, the lower the wetting capacity of melts, wetting feature of smelting reduction melts is the key factor that affects the corrosion capacity of melts of smelting reduction on refractory.
