Lanxess and Taiwan's TSRC to Form Nitrile Rubber JV in China

Lanxess says it will form a 50-50 joint venture with TSRC Corp (Taipei) to build a nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) plant at Nantong, China. The companies will jointly invest $50 million to build the plant, which will have an initial capacity of 30,000 m.t./year and serve the rapidly growing Chinese market. The jv, Lanxess-TSRC (Nantong) Chemical Industrial Co, will begin construction of the plant in September and production is expected to start in the first half of 2012.
