RAISING THE COMPRESSION RATIO OF THE REPLACEABLE FLOW PART OF THE PRESSURE GAS PUMPING UNIT GPA-16

Because of variable gas pressure in the starting sections of natural gas production mains as well as of high cost of construction of new compressor stations, in operation of gas pumping units a common practice is to replace the inner casing of the pressure pump (the replaceable flow part). Since 1997, OAO Kazan'kompressormash (Open Joint-Stock Company Kazan' Compressor Machines) has been making replaceable flow parts as designed by ZAO NIIturbokompressor for use by OAO Gazprom (Open Joint-Stock Company Gas Industry). So far more than 70 replaceable flow parts of various kinds have been made (Table 1). The replaceable flow parts (pump casings) of the early time were developed for a pressure elevation ratio of 1.7 for the Urengoigazprom (Urengoi Gas Industry). An important stage in the construction of replaceable flow parts were comparative tests of SPCh-16/76-1.7 made by the SMNPO im. M. V. Frunze (M. V. Frunze Sumy Machine-Building Scientific and Production Association) and Kazan'kompressormash, which were tested in May of 2000 on the stand of a testing facility in Kazan. The tests underscored the need for a detailed study of the conditions of SPCh (replaceable flow part) operation at compressor stations.
