The chemical and petrochemical industries, particularly the mechanical repair sections, are experiencing considerable difficulties in stocking various spare parts over wide ranges for power plant and other equipment and which range up to assemblies and units from various materials and semifinished products. With market mechanisms, there is no longer the planning system for supplying organizations with such products. Effective production under competition is very much determined by improvements in the system for managing stocks and the turnover of spare parts. The problem is difficult because the spare parts cover a wide range and are delivered in various volumes and at different times. Also, there are large fluctuations in the demand for them because of various random factors.
