1. The new structured packing designed by the TsKBN is not inferior to the best foreign samples of structured packings in terms of technical indicators. 2. The existence of no more than traces of glycol in the filtering stage under all test conditions again confirms the prediction made by Zibert et al. [5] concerning the possibility of eliminating the filtering stage in the design of absorbers with a structured packing; this will make it possible either to lower the height and metal consumption of the vessels, or use the potential reserves with respect to the height of the absorber to increase the heat exchange section, thus promoting a deeper degree of gas drying, especially at elevated gas temperatures, for example, in the compressor period of field exploitation. 3. After testing the packing in question in the 1800-mm-diameter absorber, it is possible to verify rather assuredly the conclusion drawn by Zibert et al. [3] concerning the possibility of excluding from industrial practice such an indicator as the overhaul period of operation of a gas-drying absorber, which is dictated by periodic replacement of the material in the filtering elements. 4. The cost of fabricating the new structured packing, even in the initial stage of development, is lower than the cost to fabricate previous modifications of structured packing, for example, a structured plate packing.
