Maintaining stable water chemistry (WC) is a current topic in hydraulic network operation, particularly heat supply (HS) systems and hot water supply (HWS). To ensure reliability in those systems, the water is treated by adding correcting additives (CA). They may be scaling and corrosion inhibitors, oxygen absorbers, and so on. The actual CA concentration in the network should correspond to the design WC within a given limit. If the CA concentration is inadequate, the metal may corrode and scale may be formed. If the concentration is excessive, there is not only unproductive CA consumption but also the possibility of metal corrosion. The water used in an HWS should meet the requirements laid down for the quality of drinking water. In [3], there is a discussion of the distribution of certain CA (scaling and corrosion inhibitors) in closed hydraulic nets. Various modes of dispensing the CA (from pulsed to uniform) in a closed system quite rapidly establish a stable WC, which is characterized by constant CA concentration throughout the network.
