EFFECTIVENESS OF APPLICATION OF STIRLING TECHNOLOGIES FOR OIL AND GAS COMPLEX

Stirling cryogenic gas machines (CGM) are employed most widely for liquefaction of industrial gases and in microcryogenics. Of special interest, however, is development and creation of advanced technologies (Stirling technologies) using all the potentials of the Stirling cycle. To such technologies belong natural gas (NG) liquefaction and storage systems, new cycles for getting liquid oxygen and nitrogen, condensing systems for recovery of light hydrocarbon fractions (LHF) during oil products storage, non-draining systems for long-term storage of cryogenic fuel, cryonitrogen systems for rapid freezing and storing of food products, systems for independent cryogenic cold supply, and many others developed through collaborative research by specialists of the A. F. Mozhaiskii Military and Outer Space Academy and the Innovation and Research Center of Stirling Technologies (St. Petersburg). A scientific and technical and patent basis has been created to date, supporting national priority over the proposed technologies and their introduction into many branches of the industry in the shortest time. The prospect of application of Stirling CGMs for these technologies is determined by the high energy efficiency of the thermodynamic Stirling cycle, ecological cleanness of the working bodies and processes, and significant experience of series manufacture of these machines. The specifications of the major machines are adduced in Table 1.
