Experimental results are described that serve to improve methods of ultrasonic monitoring for engineering components. Observed relationships are obtained for the reflection coefficient R and transmission coefficient D and for the sum R~2 + D~2 as a function of the depth of extended crack models for ultrasonic piezoelectric detectors with Ravleigli angles for the prism under various irradiation conditions.
