The paper discusses the operation of a gas turbine plant (GTP) when the fans in the cooling system are switched off. The GTP is located in a noise and heat isolating jacket (NHJ) and the cooling is provided by atmospheric air supplied to the NHJ by a fan. The operation of gas-pumping plant involves working with brief (10-30 sec) switching off the GTP cooling system. These modes include switching the fans in the cooling system the electrical supply to the compressor station, and also transfer from the main fan to the spare one when the main fan fails. A model is proposed describing the motion of an ideal thermally conducting gas in the NHJ with allowance for gravitation. Calculations are presented on the temperature patterns for various times after switching off the fans in the GTP cooling system. Graphs are given for the temperature in relation to the time at several points at which there are measuring instruments.
