摘要

It is shown to be possible to use wastes from agriculture (wheat and sunflower stems) and from wood-working (sawdust) as sorbents for treating effluents to remove heavy-metal ions. A study has been made on how the processing temperature of these wastes affects the performance in removing heavy-metal ions from effluents: Zn~(2+), Cd~(2+), Pb~(2+), and Cu2~+. Data are presented on the performance of the treatment in relation to the nature of the metal cation by reference to heat-treated sunflower stems. Microstructural and physicochemical tests have been done by infrared spectroscopy on the initial sorbents and ones heat treated at 300℃.
