COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION AND SELECTION OF SEPARATORS FOR THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY

This article evaluates 440 standard sizes of separators for the oil and gas industry. The author proposes an evaluation and selection method for oil and gas collection, transportation, and processing plants. Weight and size parameters of the separators depend on the type of machine, projected consumption of gas and liquid, and operating pressure. The parameters can vary by an order of magnitude for the separators of one type, and by two orders of magnitude for separators of different types. The aforesaid method of selection by separation efficiency and weight and size criteria is recommended for selection of separators in the oil and gas and other industries.
