摘要

A method of continuous methyl methacrylate polymerization in suspension using a cascade of full mixing reactors and full displacement columnar apparatuses is proposed. Dispersity of the system and process temperature greatly affect the particles settling dynamics. A mathematical model of polymerization kinetics is proposed for optimizing temperature conditions. Based on analysis of experimental data and theoretical premises an apparatus was developed for optimizing continuous suspension methyl methacrylate polymerization that produces homogeneous polymethyl methacrylate particles of the desired size. The proposed unit can be used to polymerize methyl methacrylate and get its copolymers and to polymerize monomers that form systems close in properties to systems based on methyl methacrylate.
