Cyclic RGD-peptide functionalized phospholipids micelle-encapsulated near-infrared CdTe/ZnSe quantum dots were synthesized as multifunctional probes for targeting and imaging tumors in live animals.rnQuantum dots (QDs) have attracted much interest in the last decade due to their unique optical properties. Traditionally, CdSe based QDs have been the main focus of the nano-biotechnology community and their potential for applications ranging from sensing to imaging have been extensively explored.
