Multifunctional amphiphilic hollow carbonaceous spheres assembled into Pickering emulsions exhibit reversible pH-dependent phasetransfer behavior and can efficiently catalyze water/oil biphasic reactions, facilitating the recycling of the catalysts and separation of the products.
