Highly dispersed ceria-zirconia supported on ordered mesoporous alumina, showing higher thermal stability up to 900 C, has been successfully synthesized via a sol-gel process associated with P123 as the template in ethanol solvent. Ceria (CeO_2) and cerium-based materials have attracted much interest in recent years because of their extensive use in a number of different fields, such as catalysis, polishing materials, fuel cells, gas sensors and so forth.~1 Except for the catalysts, CeO_2 is also widely used as a promoter of automobile three-way catalysts for its oxygen storage capacity (OSC).~2 But the major problem with CeO_2 is the loss of oxygen storage capacity (OSC) due to reduction of surface area upon thermal treatment.~3
