Visible light-activated localized surface plasmon resonance-based photoelectrochemical detection is reported for the first time. Due to the collective oscillations of conduction electrons driven by the applied electromagnetic field of incident light, noble metal nanoparticles (NPs) exhibit localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), the effect of which depends on their sizes, geometric shapes, interparticle distances, dielectric properties of the NP materials as well as the surrounding medium.1 Because the optical spectra could qualitatively reflect
