A novel route for preparing highly proton conductive membrane materials with metal-organic frameworks

摘要

Fe-MIL-101-NH_2 was prepared by a novel method. The MOFs adhered well to SPPO via chemical bonds, and yielded the mixed-matrix Fe-MIL-101-NH_2-SPPO membrane for use in fuel cells. The proton conductivity of the membranes was as high as 0.10 S cm~(-1) at room temperature and 0.25 S cm~(-1) at 90 ℃. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which are intriguing class of crystalline materials by their modular syntheses, crystalline structures, and porosity, have deserved much attention due to their unique features such as gas storage, selective separation, magnetism and heterogeneous catalysis. Recently, other potential properties of MOFs, electrical conductivity and, in particular, proton conductivity, have been paid much attention.
