Trivalent lanthanide metal ions promote formation of stacking G-quartets

We report the first examples of stacking G-quartet formation assisted by trivalent lanthanide metal ions (La~(3+), Eu~(3+), Tb~(3+), Dy~(3+), Tm~(3+)). In recent years, the G-quartet has attracted considerable attention in various areas of research, ranging from molecular biology to nanotechnology.
