From raw materials to the product

About 120 participants (Fig.) met in Duesseldorf/Germany on 28 March 2007 on the occasion of the specialist conference "Cement Chemistry" organized by the German Cement Works Association (VDZ) to exchange views on topics of cement chemistry. After an introduction by Dr. M. Schneider from VDZ, Dr.-Ing. H.-M. Ludwig from Schwenk Zement KG gave a report on the responsibilities of the committee of experts concerning cement chemistry. Then folio-wed a lecture on the topic "Granulate blastfurnace slag — reaction potential and production of optimized cements" given by Dr.-Ing. A. Ehrenberg from the FEhS-Institut fuer Baustoff-Forschung e.V. Then Dr.-Ing. K. Rendchen from BetonMarketing Nord GmbH presented in his lecture real-life examples of the use of cements containing granulated blastfurnace slag.
