The Industry Solutions Division of Siemens Ltd. India, Mumbai, has won an order from Polysius AG,Beckum, to supply the complete turnkey electrical equipment to Ohorongo Cement in Otavi/Namibia. It is scheduled to come on stream by December 2010. Schwenk Zemen't KG is investing a three-figure million € sum in the construction of Namibia's first cement works.The cement produced from this plant will be marketed within Namibia as well as in the neighboring countries of Angola and Botswana. Siemens will engineer and supply the entire plant electrics that includes 132 kV outdoor GIS (gas-insulated switchgear) switchyard, power and distribution transformers, 11 kV vacuum circuit breaker panels, PCCs (power control centers) and intelligent MCCs (motor control centers), medium and low-voltage motors,VVVF drives (variable voltage, variable frequency), cables, lighting as well as earthing systems, power factor correction systems, control automation and field instrumentation.
