Alternative fuels

The topic of the series "UMSICHT: Zur Sache!" (Get to the point!) of the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety, and Energy Technology in April was "Fuel has got character". After the introductory words in the lecture "Get to the point with UMSICHT" given by Dr. Asja Mrotzek, Michael Nolte talked about the "Co-incineration of alternative fuels in power plants and their impact on the power plant process". Various parameters of influence have to be taken into account for the co-incineration, in particular as regards blowers and the flue gas precipitation. Amongst other things, it is necessary to modify burners, to adapt the airflow of the burner and to increase the fineness of grinding.
