The Earth, a city

More and more people are going to live in cities rather than in rural areas. Worldwide millions of people want to move to cities within the next few years, all with hopes for prosperity, growth and progress, or at least better living conditions. This is only one perspective, because many megacities become juggernauts with huge social and environmental problems and are already at the brink of the collapse of their infrastructure. The latest technology and also sociological and even behavioral psychological findings have to be recognized when discussing the modern infrastructure and concepts of a "green city". How should the city habitat be designed and function, so that human beings can live in a "species-appropriate" environment? The only basic material for all this infrastructural purposes, which is available in sufficiently large quantities and has worldwide access, is still cement.
