摘要

The MapAware Series, of which this book is the first, is dedicated to "exposing the hidden bias inherent in traditional world maps". The way we represent the world matters - from where to place edges and the center, to what is up and down. Maps reflect, but also influence, interpretations of power. Through illustrative maps and numerous examples from current events, the author makes this case. The author clearly states that How Maps Change Things aims to begin this discussion and to "stimulate thinking". Indeed, if taken as intended, then the book clearly achieves its objective.
