摘要

In a previous article, we have reported a new method for preparing ultra-fine pitch particles (UFP) less than 40nm in diameter using a solvent-soluble hydrogenated anisotropic pitch. Although UFP are irregular in their shape, they have extremely small size and relatively narrow particle size distribution. Thus, the UFP are considered as a unique carbon material or a novel carbon precursor, and are expected to used for the filler of composite materials, adsorbents, the dispersoid of electroviscous fluid and the electrode for lithium secondary battery by taking advantage of their small particle size and high fixed carbon yield after further heat treatment up to 3000℃.
