There are usually plenty of opportunities to buy luxury saloons with engine trouble because most people fear it will cost too much in labour and parts to fix the problem. When mechanic Dan Smith at MJ Motors in Leeds was contacted by a family friend who had a non-running Audi A6 and wanted to get rid of it for a mere £750, he realised it wasn't much of a gamble to take it on. Even if the engine never fired again, the car was worth a lot more in parts alone - the aluminium body alone would be worth a fortune if you stripped and weighed it in.
