Ten of thousands of suppliers and buyers gathered in late January at the 30th annual Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco with more than 150 exhibitors showcasing chocolate or confectionery products. At the show, the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) displayed the winners and finalists for the 2004 Outstanding Confections. Annette's Chocolate Factory Inc. in Napa, Calif., won the category for its Brent's Micro Brew Beer Brittle. Finalists for the competition were Knipschildt Chocolatier in Norwalk, Conn., for its 8-oz. signature box; K.L. Keller Imports for Torro Crema Torrada-Alemany and Graffiti Zoo in Covington, Ga., for Margarita Manatee. Seattle Chocolates also was a finalist in the Outstanding Food Gift Packaging category for its Assorted Chocolate Truffles Double Drawer Gift Box.
