The Inland Waterways Association's National Festival has been doing the rounds of new sites in recent years, but for 2010 it's back to a regular favourite: Beale Park, in its attractive setting by the River Thames near Goring. Once again the event will make full use of the splendid waterside lake that forms a centrepiece of the site. This will be used for displays of historic boats, moorings for larger craft (a sizeable contingent from the Dutch Barge Association is expected), and water-based activities including 'try a canoe' and 'water zorbing' - walking on water in a giant transparent ball!
