Waterways history in the South of England is the subject of a quartet of books from Amberley Publishing. The Stroudwater and Thames & Severn Canals From Old Photographs is a new edition of a book first published in 1988, covering an interesting period from 1870 to 1930 during which the Thames & Severn Canal fell into dereliction, was restored in a last ditch attempt to make it viable, but finally fell into disuse.
